Heirloom Tomato Soup Perfect

Industriel
Last month during Restaurant week I went to take my daughter out to dinner in L.A.  We went somewhere that was walking distance and ended up at Industriel Restaurant.  Industriel calls itself Urban Farm Cuisine, not really sure what that means but I believe it means they try to bring the French Farm to the Big City.  Anyway when it is restaurant week you get a heck of a deal for only $35 each.  We got there early so I got a chance to look around, there is some corrugated steel wall treatment, there is a stand/artwork of honey, the floor is cement, the bar is small but the standing area is large, the restaurant is comfortable with a stairway to an upper deck lounge and eating area.  The walls are covered with reused wood from a farm and from what looks like the old time wood milk crates.  My point is the place is very cool.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Vegan Chocolate Pudding I am now a Vegan!!
One thing about restaurant week is that the menu is limited but it is usually a top seller in this case we both had the Heirloom Tomato Soup then Chicken and Gravy.  The soup was delicious just the right amount of acidity.
Apple Crisp Delicious
The Buttermilk Chicken was moist and they had this great light gravy, but my favorite part was the pickled root vegetables they provided a tangy bite that was unexpected.  Both deserts were good I had the Chocolate Pudding and Corrine had the Apple Crisp.  Both tasted great.  The service was excellent and our server was very attentive.  The only one weird this was the Bread.  They charge $3 per serving, I am not complaining because it tasted great and truth be told we probably did not need it but I do not believe I have ever paid for Bread.  Besides that I would recommend going to Industriel.
