NYCWFF - 2024

The 2024 New York City Wine and Food Festival was the foundation for our exciting five-day trip to New York City. We had purchased two of the coveted dinners in advance, and in addition to that, we also meticulously planned a variety of events, including not only dinners but also Broadway shows. We have been attending NYCWFF for over ten years now; several years ago, it served as a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a meal while also getting the chance to meet the chefs whose work and creativity we admired. However, times have changed, and the events have become increasingly crowded, which unfortunately has led to fewer opportunities to truly connect with the chefs and even less time to interact with them personally. Although the meals we enjoyed this year were certainly great and satisfying, the highlight of our trip was undoubtedly discovering other fantastic restaurants and attending some outstanding shows that left a lasting impression on us.

Chef’s Tiffani Faison and Eric Adjapong at The Standard. Heavy influence of African spices presented by Chef Adjapong. Both Chef’s came out to discuss their meals and did a meet and greet with the guests.

New York is undeniably a fantastic city for both food and entertainment, offering a vibrant array of experiences. During our visit, we had the wonderful opportunity to explore a few new restaurants, including Pig and Khao and Il Pesce, located in the ever-popular Eataly. Pig and Khao, which is situated in the East Village on Clinton Street, is definitely worth the trip; it has a charming, not overly fancy Bohemian vibe and is fronted by the talented Chef and Owner Leah Cohen, whose culinary creativity shines through every dish. Eataly itself remains one of my favorite destinations for consistently high-quality food served at reasonable prices, and we decided to indulge in a meal at Il Pesce, one of the five remarkable dining options available within the store.

How can you possibly visit NYC without experiencing one or more of its incredible shows? We were fortunate enough to score fantastic tickets to both Moulin Rouge and Cabaret, featuring the star-studded performance of Queen's front man Adam Lambert, which made for an unforgettable evening. If you're looking to get the best seats, I highly recommend purchasing early, and if they offer a VIP lounge, it’s definitely worth considering a splurge for an enhanced experience. Throughout our adventures, we were able to take in a wide array of iconic sights, as you will see detailed below.
