The Wild Fig in Aspen

We went with the recommendation of Andre our concierge and chose The Wild Fig http://www.thewildfig.com/. This was an easy walk from our hotel. The Wild Fig is across from the Wheeler Opera House, they offer an outdoor patio and an indoor dining area. It was a great evening so we sat outside. Finally a star sighting John Oates from Hall and Oates!!
Okay lets get back to the service and food. Our Server who was from Ireland was less than attentive every time he came to our table we like we were putting him out. But enough with the negativity and let's get to the redeeming quality of the restaurant. They do not call it the Wild Fig for nothing, they take advantage of the fig in most of their dishes. We started with Prosciutto and Fig plate and the Spanish Gazpacho soup both were hits. For entrees I had the Risotto special with Lamb Chops and my wife had the Pork with the Fig Demi Glace. The lamb was very tender and tasty it was served on top of a Porcini Mushroom Risotto, after a few bites my wife wanted to trade her meal for mine so I finished off her Pork Chop with the Fig Demi Glas. The Wild Fig is a Good Restaurant with good food a hard working bus staff but mediocre waiters. Still the food is worth it.
