Todd English's CA VA Brasserie New York

Beet Salad
Another trip to New York and the opportunity to fulfill my Blogs goal of going to Top Chef's restaurants.  Tonight we went to Todd English's CA VA near Times Square.  The restaurant is a expansive modern clean look classic eatery.  Todd English is a 4 time James Beard award winner and a James Beard Who's Who.  My contact with Todd English was the FNNYC Taco and Tequila event where Todd English was making Tacos up and personal.
Endive

Orlando's Scallops
The Soft Chell Crab
Pork Chop
The four of us started with Salad, Robert like usual got the most colorful the Carpaccio D' Betteraves, Mike and I got the Salad  D'Endives with Roquefort.  The presentation is amazing and the salads were very good.  The endive was a treat it had great flavor and freshness.  For the Entree I had the Pork Chop, Orlando had the Scallops and Robert and Mike had the Soft Shelled Crabs.  The Pork Chop was 2 inches thick and cooked perfectly with a honey Bourbon drizzle and it was rested on a puree of Sweet Potato.  The Scallops were cooked to perfection and was served on a melted Leek, preserved Truffle Risotto and the Crabs sat on a bed of Arugula with a sampling of Yellow Heirloom Tomato Vinaigrette.  Todd English made himself present through out the evening occasionally walking the floor checking out that the operation was running well.  This Restaurant is walking distance to the Theatres and is a great place to either have a pre or post theatre meal.  I highly recommend CA VA Brasserie.
