Paris in December

Wonderful Entry
This is my first international post and fortunately it is Paris.  This trip was all business so I reality did not have an opportunity to take in many fine restaurants.  But I believe I had several good meals and I want to share them with you. I have a favorite restaurant because it is such a special place Laduree Champs Elysee .  I first went there with JoAnn 4 years ago for breakfast and to try for the first time Macarons.  Laduree invented the Macaron and today they are one of the fasting growing deserts in the world.  This restaurant is amazing it originally opened in 1862 as a Tea Salon.  I believe you can taste the best of French Cooking for a reasonable price.

I went there with my colleague Mark to enjoy a great lunch.  They have several parlours in the building one right on the champs and then a series of rooms upstairs that each have their own personality.  For a better understanding of the ambiance go to the Website.  Mark and I decided to go for the Lunch which included a starter and a Entree.  For Starters we both had the Scallops.  This is not what I expected but they surpassed all my expectations and the scallops were better tasted very slowly and purposefully.  They were a raw scallop sliced thin and covered with Olive Oil, Gold Leaf, Tapioca Pearls and a Tomato and Chocolate crisp sprinkle.  These were better than described but you get the idea from the picture.  For our Entree Mark had the Lamb Stew with dried Olives and Fair Peas from Saint Flour, Capers and I had the Roasted Challans Duck with Mango and Tapioca.  These 2 meals were unbelievable, Mark's Lamb Stew had an edible leaf that was very articulate and again the presentations were wonderful.

Laduree is a must see when in Paris and you should try to enjoy either Breakfast or Lunch.
