This Week San Francisco

Boulevard View
This week I was in San Francisco on business. I wanted to go to a great restaurant near the Embarcadero to celebrate an event with some of my colleagues. I went on Open Table www.opentable.com and looked under most popular restaurants and found Boulevard . This restaurant in right on the Embarcadero and has a fantastic view of the Bay Bridge. It is owned by Chef Nancy Oakes who is a highly regarded Chef in Northern California. San Francisco Bay Area publications names Nancy Oakes as the most popular chef, and Boulevard as the favorite restaurant in San Francisco. In 2001 Chef Nancy Oakes garnered a tremendous and much-deserved James Beard Foundation Award, for "Best Chef in California." As you walk in you get that warm feeling of a traditional San Francisco restaurant. The floor is an awesome colorful mosaic, it has the traditional bar and restaurant dark wood but it is not a dark restaurant, it is open to the Bay and the street with large picture windows. Lets get to the service and food, we had a great waitress who was quick to get our drink orders and very helpful with suggestions she was extremely attentive the entire night. I had told my colleagues that I write this blog so I was fortunate to get a sample of their meals. I had the Lamb with vegetables, my friends had the Petrale Sole and the Pork Prime Rib. Everything was great my Lamb was cooked perfectly and my vegetables were a combination of Kale and Salsa Verde. Each of the dishes I tried was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food, service and ambiance.
