Flavor Del Mar

Earlier this year we went to Flavor Restaurant in Del Mar http://www.flavordelmar.com/ it was not really that impressive and we left disappointed. My wife had lunch earlier in the month and really enjoyed the food so we decided to give it another chance. The restaurant has one of the most fabulous views of the Pacific ocean in southern California and the night we were there the weather and sunset were second to none. We were there with our friends Phil and Patti from Boulder, they are the same couple we ate with at Frasca a year earlier.. We decided to go with the price fixed menu except for Phil. the Price Fixed was Tomato Salad, Scallops and a choice of Desert. The tomato salad was out of this world and was starred with a fried Green Tomato. The Scallops were coated with Corn Meal that gave it a slight crunch and was accompanied by a sweet corn puree with kernels of white corn. The desert was a delicious panna cotta with home made vanilla ice cream. Overall I would recommend this restaurant, the food matches the location and the food. Also a special shout out to James our waiter who was on top of it all night.
