Passionfish in Pacific Grove

Sturgeon
Mark and Helen have a favorite Seafood restaurant near their home in Carmel by the Sea. It is called Passionfish in Pacific Grove http://www.passionfish.net. As you drive up you are not blown away by the building, 10 years ago it could have been an diner. Once you are inside you notice that it is all windows and very light so you can see out over PG. Passionfish is very popular their was at least a 1 hour wait, but Helen would not let us go anywhere without reservations. Passionfish is the creation of Chef Ted Walter and his wife Cindy. They pride themselves by using only sustainable seafood and the freshest organic vegetables. When the menu came I noticed that there was Sturgeon, I am hoping it was not the guy I saw swimming in the big tank today at the Aquarium. I ordered the Arugula salad with pecans, ricotta, almonds and pickled cherries with a vinaigrette. My friends had the Corn Chowder, Beet Salad and the salad with Fried Olives. The salads were all very tasty and fresh the corn chowder was reported to be excellent. My Sturgeon came with jasmine rice, lemon grass slaw with ginger. the fish had a Red Curry Sauce lightly drizzled on top. The fish stood by itself and could have done with out the sauce, never the less it was delicious. Since the deserts were a bargain we shared a chamomile creme brulee and a Espresso Mud Pie. The food was delicious and the evening was a lot of fun.
